Mary Matthews
| Mary, I only learned of your death recently, and after reading your obituary, I was greatly saddened by your early passing, knowing what you have contributed to your community.
I knew you as a very good friend in Houston. I will never forget your infectious smile. You brightened the room. You were so full of life. Even today, I see those sparkling eyes and that smile. You formed a permanent impression on my I will never forget.
I know your husband must miss you deeply. I can't imagine the grief and the sense of loss he must feel.
There is comfort, however. You remained a committed disciple of Christ until your death. You inspired others. You passed on your Christian heritage. You left children to carry on your legacy.
I did not see you again after I left Houston. It has been over 20 years, yet, my heart sank when I learned of your passing. You were such a blessing.
