| DEATH
DEATH is the freeing of the spirit from the body.
(Surah Al-Waqqiah, Al Qur'an)
DEATH is not the end.
It is an end
Of the spirit that seeks perfection
From the flaws of the imprisoning flesh.
DEATH is not sleeping forever.
It is an awakening to the vastness of infinity,
A knowing of the unknown,
An ushering into the portal of the other dimension
Of living.
DEATH is not a passing away.
For it is not an experience
Of the onlooker seeing the passing ship.
Death is a journey of the traveler
Towards a final destiny.
DEATH is neither demise nor a shortening of age.
It is a multiplication of senses.
A lengthening of life itself,
For how could one ever
Savor the Other life
if not by dying?
DEATH is not a mathematical displacement
from one point to another.
It is a retention as well as continuance
within a motion in infinity,
a never-ending cycle
that only makes renewal and rebirth meaningful.
DEATH is not departure of the loved one.
For love knows no bound,
And lovers never say goodbye.
It is an ascendance to a higher level of loving
That seeks not physical attachment
But spiritual communion.
DEATH must never be painful nor be dreadful
If dying means fulfillment
Of the life-long mission
Of liberation,
Of purification.
