Jasper Van Der Bilt Van Noord
| Jasper was a beautiful girl who was the best friend I ever had. She did not know any selfishness, had no vices and did not judge. I was the first person she met here and we quickly became friends.
All through school people called us Jaren because we were always together.
On June 27, 1999 we were coming back from a party for one of our friends. It was raining and we weren't going very fast, and just before we got to my house, as we were coming around what is called the Dead Curve, a drunk driver slammed into the side of our car, knocking us into a fence. Jasper died on impact, but I merely injured my shoulder. The drunk suffered a fatal heart attack--poetic justice. But that doesn't make it better for anyone, and I will never get the blood out of my clothes or out of my heart. I love her and will never forget. |
